Decoracion de interiores en blanco y negro

La sala, posee como centro de atención un sofá con piel de vaca, muy llamativa, acompañada por una chimenea y dos clásicos de Mies Van der Rohe (aquellos del pabellón de Barcelona) pero, por supuesto, "aggiornados".
Pero una mezcla ecléctica es lo llamativo, porque en este blanco espacio con objetos que juegan con su contraste, encontramos unos muebles de estilo clásico, en color madera.

Unas hermosas sillas en color negro con patas en madera, acompañan a una mesa rectangular de vidrio.
El color principal, generalmente es el blanco, el negro sería correr un riesgo importante.
El baño y el dormitorio, poseen un diseño más despojado y minimalista. Y para este tipo de decoración, el blanco y negro, son ideales.

Cómo decorar tu mesa de centro en Navidad

Los centros de mesas alargados son una buena alternativa para grandes mesas de centro rectangulares. Los modelos más tradicionales son troncos navideños o trineos, acompañados de follaje verde, piñas, guirnaldas, etc. Coloca un camino de mesa para resaltar el centro.
Las velas juegan un papel muy importante en la decoración de Navidad, ¿Que te parece si colocas una mini-colección como centro de mesa?. Puedes incluir velas de formas rectas (redonda, cuadrada, triangular, etc), en colores alusivos, combinadas con otras de formas navideñas (PapaNoel, hombre de nieve, árbol, etc).
Elabora un sencillo y moderno centro de mesa. Los materiales que necesitas son: Un plato o fuente, una o más velas y popurrí. (Todo en los colores de la decoración navideña de tu casa), coloca las velas en el centro del plato y rodéala con el popurrí. Así de facil tendrás un aromático y decorativo centro de mesa.

Living Architecture - The Shingle House

The Shingle House is located by a beach in Dungeness, Kent.

The house, designed by NORD, is clad in tarred black shingles.

I have been noticing and reading the coverage (as seen in Dezeen, Remodelista and Wallpaper) about the popular Living Architecture, a social enterprise who are embracing the idea of "holidays in modern architecture".
The brain child of Alain be Botton, Living Architecture offers a chance to rent holiday homes designed by talented architects/designers and are placed in picturesque locations around Britain - what an amazing idea.
Some homes are still in development, including one designed by awesome Peter Zumthor, however, the Shingle House in Kent by Scottish company NORD Architecture is one that is getting lots of attention. Not hard to see why. Beam me there right now...

Eames House Bird

I was talking to my Mum today and she commented on the Eames House Bird that was sitting on the Slow Wood desk in yesterday's post. I found out that she has admired this creature for some time.
This bird rose to fame when designers Charles and Ray Eames used it as an accessory for their promotional photographs in the 50's - it was actually from their collection of Appalachian folk art. They continued to use the bird and it became somewhat of a symbol for the Eames. Vitra have scanned the original bird and re-created the Eames House Bird in solid alder with a black lacquer finish and steel wire legs. He's about 275mm high and rather fabulous.
