Simply Smitten: Cabinetry Eye Candy

Oh, hello... I think i love you. I know we just met but I hope you won't mind if I start moving all of
my china in tomorrow..... (if it's wrong to love cabinetry then I'm guilty as charged)!

Simply Smitten: Katrin Cargill

This London townhouse by interior designer, Katrin Cargill, is so utterly charming. I am simply smitten by all of the lovely little details from the wallpapered closet, to the candy cane stripes and built in bookshelves with stories just waiting to transport one to a different time and place. I could use a bit of a reprieve in a cozy London townhouse after school vacation week. It has been fun... lots of sleepovers, lots of teens, and another college visit scheduled today with our son for accepted students day. If I haven't been by your blog to say hello I apologize, it has been quite the busy week.

Thank you to everyone who entered my Atlanta Bartlett giveaway! The winner chosen by Random.org
is Elizabeth of Pretty Pink Tulips. Congrats, Elizabeth, just email me which book you would like.

Simply Smitten: Atlanta Bartlett, Interiors Stylist

Spring has finally sprung is Boston.  After a long New England winter, I am soaking it in.  My weekend consisted of long walks, putting around the yard, grilling outdoors, and enjoying the views from my outdoor patio. No one has better inspiration for transitioning the home for the season than Atlanta Bartlett. Natural branches, blooms, and shells are inexpensive and yet they all add so much impact to a room. I must say I am always smitten for pretty jewelry displayed in beautiful teacups!  If you missed my giveaway announcement, then you can enter to win 1 of 3 books by this amazing interiors stylist. Happy Spring!

Simply Smitten: Preppy Bedrooms

These bright bedrooms are just so ideal for a teenager or college student. Fun, colorful, and exciting which is what that stage of life is all about, don't you think?
Of course, a girl with great preppy style would need accessories that are befitting of a preppy princess!

What would you do differently if you could go back to that time of your life?

Simply Smitten: Statuesque Windows

via 1, 2, 3
Happy Tuesday, Cuties.  Hope your week is off to a great start.  I am loving these statuesque windows and French doors that are admitting plenty of fresh air and sunlight. Winter just doesn't want to let go here in Boston, but I am consoling myself that everything will be blooming before we know it!

Simply Smitten: Shades of Greige

Glorious design fitting for the Marie Antoinette that resides in all of us.  After all, doesn't every girl want to over indulge every now and then? What is your weakness when it comes to over indulgence?  Shoes? Macaroons? I have an affinity for pretty new lip glosses and Nutella crepes.

Go ahead and over indulge a little today... you deserve it!

Simply Smitten: Romantic Touches

Little touches of romance always make us feel a little more special.  A dab of perfume behind the ear,   pretty lace panties, petal pink on toenails,  a candle glowing in the bedroom with soft music playing in the background.
How do you add romance to your day?

Thanks to everyone who entered the Restoration Hardware giveaway.  The winner chosen by

Simply Smitten: Toile

via 1, 2, 3
Lovely classic toile.... it always looks lovely when used in a bedroom or adorning the walls in a powder room or foyer. How fabulous is that foyer with umbrellas waiting to shield one from Spring rain showers?

I am looking forward to the weekend.  We our taking our son to an accepted student's day for one of the colleges he's been accepted to and I am looking forward to getting away to Rhode Island for a bit of a reprieve.  I have been so busy as of late, I actually forgot to show up for a lunch date... major faux pas!   I do believe a break is in order!  What is on your agenda?

Simply Smitten: Wooden Warmth

via 1, 2, 3
Adding rich woods to these rustic spaces does such a lovely job of adding warmth.  Loving those windows in the bedroom that bask the room in natural light.  Perhaps I'm sleepy today because that bed is looking mighty appealing to me.  I see a nap in my near future!

Simply Smitten: Lovely Lucite

Simply Smitten: Quaint Cottage

"Just as there comes a warm sunbeam into every cottage window, so comes a love-born of God's care for every need." ~ Nathaniel Hawthorne

The truth is... I don't require very much to be happy.  I could easily be content in a cozy cottage amongst a few meaningful items.  I would revel in being awakened by the morning sun streaming through my cottage windows, reading by a crackling fire on a crisp Autumn eve, or falling asleep to the sound of raindrops amongst the rooftop.
Would you be happy living in a cozy cottage?

Be sure to check back tomorrow morning for a great giveaway you won't want to miss!

Simply Smitten: French Doors

via 1, 2, 3
I simply adore french doors.  I love how they add an air of sophistication and let in natural light.  We have French Doors at the entrance of our home office... although they look lovely, they don't really add much in the way of soundproofing.  You would be amazed how much noise two little 12 lb. dogs can make!
Thank you to everyone who entered the Stella + Dot giveaway.   The lucky winner chosen at random is, Dawn from The Alternative Wife.  Congrats, Dawn!  Thank you to all who entered.  Stay tuned I'll be announcing a great giveaway soon that you won't want to miss! xo

Simply Smitten: Windows

via 1+2, 3+4
"Better keep yourself clean and bright; you are the window through which you must see the world."
~George Bernard Shaw

Confession:  I was the student always staring out the window in class.  I still do it.  I always choose the seat near a window whether it be at a restaurant, airport, or doctor's waiting room.  The first thing I do upon entering a hotel room is throw open the room darkening blinds to explore the view and let in the light.  Some would say it's the dreamer inside but I think it is more about staying connected to the world.
You know that feeling you step outside and you notice the clouds or see a sliver of the moon?  You feel miniscule... part of a bigger plan... your problems become minor in the scheme of things.  It's the same for me when I view life through a window.  The buzz of a city viewed from a hotel window or the first blossom on a pear tree viewed through the kitchen window help to remind me that there is a whole world out there just waiting to be appreciated and lived to the fullest.
Do you stare out windows too?

Simply Smitten: French Catering Kitchen

Marble walls, an island counter top adorned in a thick slab of soapstone, black limestone flooring and a charming walk in pantry?!
This is truly the stuff dreams are made of!
