My Big Fat Greek Setting

I'm dreaming of an endless blue that extends from the sea to the sky.  I'm dreaming of a place that is Mother Nature's greatest work of art.  Cotton candy clouds,  crepes filled with chocolate, and white arched buildings made of stucco.  The reality is, I will be whipping up some Chocolate Nutella Crepes and popping Mama Mia or Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants in the VCR.  Hmmm... sounds like a great alternative to the Superbowl game and a mini escape to the Greek isles.

Boston Birthday

Hello, lovely readers! What is on your

agenda for this weekend? We are going

to Boston to celebrate my husband's,

(a.k.a. Maddog), birthday! Please

indulge me a bit as this post is somewhat

personal.

Brownstone on Beacon Street

Every year we go to Fenway Park to celebrate

my hubby's birthday, as he is a huge sports fanatic.

Myself, I'm a bit of a bench warmer so my idea of a sport

is trying to see how many shopping bags I can juggle

on an excursion. I have to say I enjoy visiting the

historic park once a year just to watch Maddog

revel in his glory! He gets so excited, he is like a

kid at Christmas!

I met my husband when he was 18 so I have had the

good fortune of celebrating many birthdays with him.

I have watched him go from a High School graduate

to a college graduate.

From a college graduate with dreams of a career

to a businessman with a successful career

From a kid himself,

to having kids of his own

From a newlywed to someone who is in it for

the long haul

He has the biggest heart in the world!

Little Palm Island Resort & Spa

Little Palm Island is a South Seas style resort which

is set on a white sand beach on a private six acre

island. The island is 28 miles east of Key West in

Little Torch Key, Florida.

Accommodations include your own private little

bungalow!

The island even has it's own zen garden to

stroll through.

The cuisine is a combination of fresh Floridian and

Pan Asian flavors.

On sight activities include relaxing at the lagoon

style pool, sailing, fishing, scuba diving & snorkeling.

Of course after all those activities a spa visit

would be necessary.

If you get lucky you might stumble upon one of

the precious deer which inhibit the island.

I know I just got back from

vacation but is it to early to

start thinking about the next

one?!

the idyllic seaside village of Kennebunkport, Maine

is the perfect weekend getaway.

from, Walker Point, the summer

home of, George and Barbara Bush,

which draws many curious spectators.

The best part of Kennebunkport is being able to take

a stroll on Goose Rocks Beach which is not only

beautiful but is uncrowded.

Pelican Hill Resort, Luxury At It's Best

For April break we took a family vacation to California.

My husband travels frequently for work and we are

part of the, Marriott Rewards program, which means

we always usually save our points and stay at a Marriott.

Don't get me wrong, it's a great program and they have

some great hotels but it is just so predictable.

This vacation we decided to splurge and we really

spoiled ourselves.Tim actually found

the, The Pelican Hill Resort, on the

Newport Coast online and we

threw caution to the wind

and said, "Let's do it!"

Although pricey, I have to say it was completely worth

every penny. I think everyone should have a

vacation like this at least once in their lifetime!

We stayed in a two bedroom villa which was not

only gorgeous, it was roomy enough for a family

with two teens.

I love the wood ceilings.

The bathrooms were so spacious and luxurious.

It was bigger than our Master Bath at home!

The villas all have their own balcony with views to die for.

Seriously, I am missing the Palm trees... it's cold here!

The resort has a great little cafe where they have

specialty coffees and gelato as well as pastries.

If you go, make sure to try the pistachio gelato, yum!

There are two main restaurants on sight. Both were

fabulous. They also have room service and they will come

set your table with linens and set up your meal.

The resort also offers a service where you can have

a chef come to your villa and prepare dinner for you!

My husband and son said it was the best

golf course they ever played on.

My daughter and I hit the spa, (all the

services were fantastic)!

The resort hosts a lot of weddings. What a

beautiful spot!

The main pool is called the Coliseum pool and it is

completely round. It's really beautiful lit up in the evening.

The villas have a private pool just for the villa guests and

it was not overcrowded. They will bring you a lunch menu and

you can eat right there while lounging in the sun.

You honestly, don't even have to leave this resort it has

everything you need.

Of course, we wanted to see the California coast!

Seriously, I cannot rave enough about this

resort so next time you are ready to throw

caution to the wind and decide to go for it

this is the place to be!
