Rustic Elegance

Sunlight streaming in through windows, flowing fabrics, natural elements, and a glowing fire all help to keep these rustic spaces of brick and stone from feeling cold.  Clementines are my favorite fruit and now I have another reason to love them... they add a punch of color when displayed!

Simply Smitten: Romantic Touches

Little touches of romance always make us feel a little more special.  A dab of perfume behind the ear,   pretty lace panties, petal pink on toenails,  a candle glowing in the bedroom with soft music playing in the background.
How do you add romance to your day?

Celebrity Home Perve.

Reese Witherspoon's ranch in Ojai, California.
The interiors of the ranch before Witherspoon brought it.
For a bit of entertainment news -  lovely actress Reese Witherspoon got married this week at her home in Ojai, California. For a bit of celebrity lifestyle perving, I found images of Witherspoon's Ojai ranch in its former guise as the home of American interior designer Kathryn M. Ireland. Who knows how different the interiors look now, however, it was here that Reese married her man in a "rustic farm-style" wedding. Nice. If you want to see more, go here.

Club Monaco 2011 Spring Lookbook

The Club Monaco 2011 Spring lookbook is not boasting of brights or other Springtime hues, but hosts a lovely array of light weight neutrals that could be mixed and matched 100's of different ways to create a multitude of outfits.  I am thinking I may need to recreate the first look once Old Man Winter finally decides he has to go!

Triflow Kitchen Mixer

Here's a kitchen mixer that I have just ordered for my client's kitchen. It is a Triflow tap - which mean it has hot, cold and filtered water all in one. This a great solution as there aren't many nice looking water filter taps out there. It also keeps the area around the sink clean and minimal - this is ideal when the sink is located in the kitchen's central island in the middle of an open plan kitchen, dining and living area.

Kitchens by Vincent van Duysen

I have been designing several new kitchens of late - for inspiration, I have been checking out kitchens designed by Belgian architect, Vincent Van Duysen. These kitchens are refined, have simple details and subtle colour/material combinations that really work.

Color Soiree: Navy & Pink Wedding

I am loving this gorgeous wedding scheme of navy and pink, so beautifully captured by Kristin Vining Photography. The details are so perfectly thought out, right down to the pretty pink fingernails adorning each bridesmaid.  The spectacular outdoor setting and touches of whimsy keeps pretentiousness at bay, and sets the tone for what a wedding is all about.... celebration and fun!

Would you use this color scheme for your wedding?

Toile

Toile is having a resurgence right now and I have the above fabric for one of my clients right now. She loves powder and duck egg blues. We not going as extreme as this though - just for some curtains...

Pretty Space: Farmhouse Kitchen

via
Isn't Sunday simply the best day of the week?  I can't imagine a prettier place than this kitchen to linger over a Sunday brunch.  I can almost smell the lavender and feel the fresh breeze!  I can't wait for warmer temps so I can open the windows and enjoy the sound of birds chirping, and the scent of lilacs drifting in with the fresh air.
Wishing you a lovely day!
